Common questions

What does the 14-day free trial include?
Every feature is on from day one. No credit card to start. We only ask for one when you decide to keep going past the trial.
Do you handle US payroll and sales-tax filing?
Not yet — and we'd rather be upfront than overpromise. Today LineLedger gives US businesses the full double-entry core: invoicing, bills, multi-currency, sales-tax tracking with custom rates, fixed assets, and drill-through reports. Automated US payroll and sales-tax filing are on our roadmap — vote them up on the requests board. Many US customers run LineLedger alongside a dedicated payroll service in the meantime.
Who qualifies for the free non-profit tier?
Registered non-profits and charities — and unincorporated associations like sports leagues, hobby clubs, makerspaces, HOAs, and PACs. If you operate at cost for your members, you qualify. Tell us about your organization at signup and we'll mark you exempt.
Is "per company" really one flat price?
Yes. One company on LineLedger is $25/month or $250/year — flat. No per-seat charges. Add as many team members and customers as you need. Run a second company? That's a second subscription.
Do you bill in USD?
US companies are billed in USD. (Canadian companies on lineledger.ca are billed in CAD.) Either way the app does its own multi-currency for your books.
Can I cancel or change plans?
Anytime. Cancel and your books remain readable until the end of the period. Export to ZIP, CSV, or XLSX before you leave — we don't hold your data hostage.
Can I self-host instead?
Yes. LineLedger is source-available under the AGPLv3. Clone the repo, run it on your own server, and you owe us nothing. The $25/month is for the hosted, managed-by-us version.
